Site of the US secret bombings during the Vietnam War in the 1970s, craters still remain where blood once was shed, a reminder of the malice and the lives lost throughout the reign of the Khmer Rouge. Kep, a quaint coastal town, is nestled just off the shore, tucked between the mountains. To stand here on this road as an American citizen was both humbling and sobering. Hope now stands in place of the evil that once spread.
